Program Director/Head Coach

Tyrone Harvey Jr

Coach Tyrone Harvey was born in the north east and moved to Florida with his family when he was a child. Harvey was an avid basketball player until he entered high school and began playing football where he found a new interest. Harvey attended University High School in Orlando where he was captain of the football and weightlifting teams. Harvey orchestrated the defensive efforts from the middle linebacker position. Harvey helped his football team achieve the first winning season in school history. Harvey also helped his weightlifting team win the metro conference championship for three consecutive years. During Harvey’s junior and senior year he trained through his football seasons for weightlifting allowing him to excel throughout the entire season staying strong and preparing him for his weightlifting seasons. Harvey placed 4th in the state his junior year and 1st in the state his senior year where he also set the state record for the Clean and Jerk, becoming the second state champion for weightlifting in school history.

Harvey went on to play football for the University of Central Florida for 2 years and then transferred to Columbia College of Missouri where he obtained his Bachelors Degree. Harvey became involved in competitive powerlifting and competed in the Police and Fire Games where he still holds state records for the deadlift (620lbs) and bench press (430lbs).

Harvey began to volunteer coaching girls weightlifting at Timber Creek High School in 2005. Little did Harvey know he was entering into an era of coaching a weightlifting dynasty at Timber Creek H.S. Harvey began a powerlifting based off season conditioning program and was eventually moved into the TCHS girls weightlifting Head Coaches’ role where he has been for the last 4 years. Timber Creek boys and girls weightlifting have 6 conference championships combined over the last 4 years (4-girls, 2-boys)

Harvey developed Team Florida Orlando(TFO), a U.S.A. Weightlifting program. TFO has become the largest U.S.A. Weightlifting club in Florida and continues to grow each year. In 2010,Harvey was named the USA Weightlifting/Florida Weightlifting Federation “Developmental Coach of the Year”. Harvey has been named the Orange County Public Schools Coach of the year 5 times for boys and girls weightlifting combined. He currently holds a USA Weightlifting Senior Coach certification and has 15 years of experience in strength and conditioning and competitive weightlifting. Most recently, Harvey coached the TFO Female girls team to a National School Age Championship Title June 11′ and second place finish at Junior Nationals January 12′.

Hannah Crowe

Hannah was born in Bradenton Florida on October 27th 1989. She attended Manatee High School from 2004-2008 were she was a member of her school’s chorus and ensembles all four years. During her freshman year Hannah was part of her school’s student government and her sophomore and junior year held an office position in her school’s French club. Hannah cheered on her high school’s Cheerleading squad all four years and made the All American UCA Team and was also voted by her fellow squad mates “Most likely to lift the team when they’re down… Literally” her senior year. Hannah lifted on her school’s exhibition weightlifting team her freshman year, made the varsity team and qualified for the Girls State Weightlifting Meet for the next three years after. At States her sophomore year she tied for 7th place, junior year she medaled and placed 6th, and her senior year she was state runner-up all in the 199lbs weight class. During her senior year Hannah was captain of her weightlifting team, went undefeated up until the state meet, was athlete of the year in the two local newspapers, and was voted MVP by her coaches.

At the end of her senior year Hannah joined her school’s track and field team where she came in 2nd in the county in the shot put and made it all the way to regionals. To finish her senior year Hannah was voted most school spirited and sang the National Anthem at her graduation. After graduation in 2008 Hannah began attending classes at State College of Florida and helped her coach in starting her team (Team Florida Manatee County) where she started training for Olympic style weightlifting. She competed in her first meet that fall and competed in Junior Nationals 2009 and Collegiate Nationals 2009 that spring. In the spring of 2010 Hannah competed in Collegiate Nationals and placed 3rd in the 75+ weight class. That winter she graduated with honors from State College of Florida with her Associates Degree. Hannah recently relocated to Orlando where she is currently majoring in nursing at the University of Central Florida. She has been lifting with TFO for a few months now and recently traveled and competed at Collegiate Nationals with the team. In the upcoming years Hannah plans to put her own competitive lifting career on hold but continue coaching at TFO while entering into the nursing program.

Assistant Coach

Melissa Villanueva

Melissa is TFO’s newest addition to the coaching staff.  Melissa is a Level-1 USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Specialist.  Melissa is a very accomplished weightlifter and most recelently placed 2nd in the nation at the National Junior Championships.
